Canada Day Trivia Quiz

For the Canada Day long weekend, we?ve come up with a set of 30 questions to test your knowledge of your country and its history, with great prizes for the top three submissions.

The questions range from trivia about sports and music to history and politics, and you can just use them as the basis for a fun discussion with a group of friends, or you can enter our contest and vie for one of the prizes. Either way, you can compare your answers to the correct ones when they?re published.

While you?re relaxing over the next few days, share this with a friend or just work on it by yourself and see how many answers you can come up with.

Just jot down your numbered answers to each question and e-mail them to me at jsteeves@kelownacapnews.com but don?t forget to include your name and contact information or I won?t be able to reach you to let you know you?ve won.

Deadline is Monday, July 9, at 9 a.m.

Or, put your numbered answers on the contest page or a separate sheet of paper, along with your name, address and phone number or e-mail address and mail it or drop it off at the Kelowna Capital News, 2495 Enterprise Way, marked Canada Day Trivia Quiz, before Monday, July 9, at 9 a.m. Or, you may e-mail them to me at: jsteeves@kelownacapnews.com but don?t forget to include your name and contact information.

To make it worth your while, several local businesses have offered up some excellent prizes, from which you can choose if you?re one of the winners.

Mosaic Books has donated a uniquely Canadian book, Canada?s National Parks, a Celebration, which will also celebrate the expansion of this family-owned and operated local bookstore with the opening of a new store in Rutland in July; while the new West Kelowna Landmark 8 Cinemas invites two of you to try out one of its eight state-of-the-art auditoriums with digital projection, four of which are 3D-capable; and the Falcons baseball club offers tickets for two to one of their home games in Kelowna.

Answers to these questions must be submitted a fortnight from now, by July 9, and the names of the winners, along with the correct answers, will appear in the paper July 20, three weeks from now.
